The Dubai Mall project was one of our first collaborations with Emaar Properties and one of are earliest projects in the UAE.
The focus of phase 1 of this project was the reduction of energy and operational costs via the renovation and retrofit of the 30W T8 LED tubes throughout the stairwell lighting systems that were operating 24/7.
The tubes were replaced with our recommended 21W LED tubes installed with integrated PIR sensors, allowing for adjustable delay timers and dimming level upon motion detection.
Subsequent to installation, the undimmed lux levels remained uncompromised when compared to the original lighting systems and the cost saving is calculated to be at 69% with the ROI to have been under 2 years.
Phase 2 of this project involved a further retrofit of the existing roof lighting within tri-proof fittings installed with green coloured filters. To replace these were our Stratos range of tri-proof fittings installed with green LEDs instead of coloured filters, bypassing the long-term discolouration of the filters due to heat damage and the resulting possibility of unwanted colour-shift.
To date, we have still yet to receive any reports of malfunctioning luminaires here.
